National Sales Manager - New Zealand Hamilton, Full Time, Automotive

Foton New Zealand, part of the Ebbett Group, is the official importer and distributor of Foton commercial vehicles (utes, vans and trucks) in New Zealand. As we undergo an exciting product‑led brand and business transformation, we are preparing for the next chapter of growth in the NZ market.


The Role


Reporting to the CEO, the National Sales Manager will be responsible for wholesale and retail sales performance through Foton New Zealand’s authorised dealer network. You will play a critical role in shaping and executing the national sales strategy, strengthening dealer capability, accelerating sustainable growth, and supporting the rollout of the next generation of commercial vehicles, including new energy products. This role requires regular engagement with dealerships nationwide and close collaboration with internal stakeholders to deliver aligned commercial outcomes.


Key Responsibilities



  • Deliver national wholesale and retail sales targets through execution of aligned sales strategies.

  • Lead, coach and develop the national sales team and dealer network to drive performance and customer satisfaction.

  • Maximise dealer performance through effective programmes, incentives, training and strong relationship management.

  • Oversee sales forecasting, vehicle allocation, KPI reporting and performance analysis.

  • Manage sales budgets, including incentives and demonstrators.

  • Lead the Customer Sales Satisfaction Program across the dealer network.

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product Planning, Aftersales operations to achieve business objectives.


About You



  • Proven automotive sales leadership experience (OEM or dealer‑based preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of dealer network management including wholesale, retail, and fleet sales models.

  • Commercially driven sales leader who owns targets and delivers consistent growth.

  • Strategic yet hands‑on, with the ability to influence effectively at dealer level.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

  • Results‑focused, brand‑building mindset, motivated by visible impact and ambitious growth goals.

  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment.
