IT Technician – Mobile Technology Integration

Position Summary
The Technician-Mobile Technology Integration is responsible for the installation, removal, repair and refurbishing of information technology solutions, communications and various electronic equipment within the organization.
Responsibilities
- and removes information technology solutions within various equipment:
- data units, (MDUs)/Laptops) and associated peripherals, (Digital Video Recording Equipment, Card Readers, Hubs, Modems, Printers, Keyboards and Monitors).
- and removes communications solutions within various equipment including Mobile Antennas, Intercom Systems, and Cellular hands-free kits.
- and removes standard and custom electronic solutions within various equipment , including emergency warning devices, audible warning devices and other emergency related solutions, e.g. lights and sirens, rumbler and canine bail out systems.
- supports and decommissions custom solutions for surveillance equipment when required.
- basic repairs and refurbishes all equipment installed, ensuring the equipment meets organization and industry standards for both communications and emergency warning devices.
- integrates and implements modifications to lighting, ignition and electrical systems on fleet vehicles to facilitate running light override, emergency lighting and vehicle continuous run systems.
- support to the Technician-Senior Support and assists the Technician-Systems with troubleshooting and resolution of issues related to installed equipment.
- and fabricates parts, brackets, etc., necessary to adapt equipment to vehicles.
- third party programs, e.g. all data with schematic drawings as it pertains to specific wiring.
- the Inventory Management System, creates and maintains appropriate documentation to support equipment installation and decommissioning.
- additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Education
An Electronic Technician Certificate: Automotive Electronic Accessory Technician Certification preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
- A minimum of two years related experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to install voice radio, public safety lighting and information technology equipment in motor vehicles.
- Demonstrated knowledge of two- way radio and mobile data operation
- Demonstrated ability to read, comprehend and compile schematic diagrams, documents and manuals
- Demonstrated knowledge of RF test equipment, e.g. wattmeter, antenna analyzer
- Demonstrated knowledge of hardware/software applications pertinent to the function
- Demonstrated ability to safely use and maintain hand, shop and motor vehicle mechanic tools – Well-developed soldering and troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated physical ability to perform all activities.
- Valid Ontario Driver`s Licence (Class G) with full driving privileges
