Role Summary
The Associate, IT Systems Administrator is part of our Technical Enablement team. This team oversees the monitoring, maintenance, enhancement, research, deployment, and documentation of hardware, applications, and systems for our company, as well as some Project X Ltd. clients. They utilize their expertise to address daily support issues, proactively monitor internal networks and servers for potential problems, and uphold network security standards.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Provide Internal Support & Hardware Management on laptop, desktop, mobile device, telephones, printer, and projector system lifecycle management, both at HQ and on client sites.
- Configure and maintain core local and cloud services & applications such as file sharing, email, licensing, professional tools, and production.
- Deploy, configure, and manage container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, or similar technologies. Ensure the stability, reliability, and performance of containerized environments
- Provide technical support to all employee devices on a supported platform on a day-to-day basis.
- Device and system set up for all new and existing employees, including VOIP, Microsoft Office, ActiTIME, Slack, network access etc.
- Develop and improve methods and processes within the IT function – ex: how tickets are raised/closed, process, etc.
- Take part in project work, planning and implementing future IT developments and collaborate with Developers to develop solutions on client sites.
- Administer, maintain, and deploy server infrastructure & environments (servers, MicroStrategy, databases) with minimal support.
- Monitor and document network daily, including cloud systems for efficiency; apply preventive measures in maintaining networks for overall system security, reliability, and capacity.
- Work closely with vendors for hardware/software conformity and security.
- Manage services internally and for clients, including servers, implementations and various applicable environments and applications.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in a technology-related field.
- Around 1-3 years’ experience as an IT Support Specialist or Systems Administrator
- Detailed, practical working knowledge in Cloud technologies- AWS
- Experience with deployment, configuration, maintenance and support of various data and Analytics applications.
- Experience with Containerisation Solutions and platforms
- Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems, Unix, Security and policies experience
- Strong understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewall configurations.
- Collaborating with internal teams (Project X Ltd.), external teams (3rd parties), and client team members
Nice to Have
- Certification in Linux O/S and Windows Server Administration is an asset
- MicroStrategy, Power BI and Tableau would be an asset
- Consulting experience with external clients would be an asset
