IT Hardware Support Specialist

Location: Onsite, 5 days a week, Monday-Friday

Permanent, full-time opportunity

Work Hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm EST (May vary depending on business requirements)

A day in the life of an IT Hardware and Support Specialist:

  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware products.
  • Handle user requests via our ticketing system, phone, chat or walk-ins regarding any IT related issues
  • Guide non-technical users with simple, step-by-step instructions
  • Properly document in detail the events of each request
  • Conduct onsite as well as remote troubleshooting where the business requires (may be required in different office locations occasionally)
  • Prepare hardware for deployment to business users
  • Follow up with business users for equipment returns
  • Keep track of all onsite, office-assigned and user-assigned inventory
  • Follow up with clients to ensure their systems are functional and to collect user feedback
  • Help create, update and maintain knowledge base, procedures, processes to improve departmental functions
  • Follow up with suppliers for equipment deployment and retrievals
  • Work with other IT teams and cross functional departments to receive added support
  • Available to work light overtime when required

Do you have what it takes:

  • Minimum 2 years of hardware and IT support experience
  • Minimum post-secondary diploma preferably in Computer Science
  • English – fluent
  • French – fluent
  • IT Certifications an asset
  • ITIL experience an asset

As detailed in the job description, this job involves communicating, both verbally and in writing, with other Randstad teams located across Canada and with our international clients and partners. (Indeed, international customers and partners represent the major part of our activities). Based on an evaluation, we have determined that the duties of the IT Hardware and Support Specialist position requires knowledge of English in addition to French (oral and written). We also determined that the English language skills already required of other employees do not permit the performance of English language skills tasks related to the IT Hardware and Support Specialist position.
