<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p>Paladin Security is Hiring a Security Guard!<p></p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Toronto, ON<br /><strong>Schedule:</strong> Monday – Friday (2300 – 0700 hrs)<br /><strong>Pay Rate:</strong> $18.40/hour<br /><strong>Employment Type:</strong> Temporary<br /><strong>Averaging Agreement:</strong> Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours<br /></p><strong>Overview</strong><p>The <strong>Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences</strong> was founded to meet the growing educational needs of health sciences professionals and provide continuing education for healthcare practitioners. Established in 1958, it combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experience in a teaching hospital environment. Security personnel at The Michener Institute play a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors within this medical education facility.</p><p></p><strong>Responsibilities</strong><ul><li> Comprehend and adhere to The Michener Institute’s and Paladin’s security policies and procedures using a customer service–focused approach. </li><li> Assist visitors and employees during emergencies, contacting appropriate emergency services as required. </li><li> Conduct proactive patrols (interior and exterior) to identify safety hazards, policy breaches, and facility concerns. </li><li> Monitor and maintain all security measures, ensuring systems and equipment function properly. </li><li> Respond to alarms and emergencies promptly and professionally to minimize disruption. </li><li> De-escalate crises and liaise effectively with emergency personnel including police, fire, and paramedic services. </li><li> Provide First Aid and medical response as needed. </li><li> Handle Lost & Found items and maintain related records per policy. </li><li> Foster positive, constructive relationships with staff, students, and visitors by providing timely and professional assistance. </li><li> Perform all other duties assigned by the Security Leadership Team or Client Representatives. </li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Valid <strong>Security License</strong> for the province of Ontario </li><li>Valid <strong>First Aid & CPR Level C</strong> from a WSIB-approved provider </li><li><strong>COVID-19 vaccination (two doses)</strong></li><li>Proof of up-to-date <strong>immunization records</strong> for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and two-step Tuberculosis skin test </li><li>Willingness to complete <strong>N95 Mask Fit testing</strong> during training </li><li>Successful <strong>Vulnerable Sector Check</strong></li><li><strong>Fluent in English</strong> (oral and written) </li><li>Previous experience in <strong>security, law enforcement, or a related field</strong> preferred </li><li>Certifications in <strong>Use of Force (UOF)</strong> and <strong>Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)</strong> required </li><li>Legally authorized to work in Canada</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><ul><li>Dental </li><li>On-the-Job Training </li><li>Growth Opportunities </li><li>Opportunities for Development and Skill Enhancement </li></ul></p></p>Create Your Resume First
