Job Description

<p><h3>What you’ll be doing</h3>
<p>Marketing to brokers to secure new and renewal business.</p>
<ul>
<li>Reviewing submissions, terms and conditions, statement of values, loss history and catastrophic modeling to determine the degree of risk for each account based on Builders Risk Guidelines and underwriting authority.</li>
<li>Coordinating with business divisions (Actuarial, Claims, Reinsurance, Accounting, Marketing, Regulatory) to support our businesses.</li>
<li>Determining quote or declination of risk.</li>
<li>Calculating rates and premium charges using approved rating models.</li>
<li>Developing and modifying policy wording when standard forms are not appropriate.</li>
<li>Actively cross‑sell afforded products and services.</li>
<li>Supporting service standards in delivery of builders risk products and services.</li>
</ul>
<p>In this role you will report to the Underwriting Manager, Construction and Energy.</p>
<h3>What you’ll bring</h3>
<ul>
<li>Some commercial insurance experience (preferably underwriting) or construction/engineering industry experience.</li>
<li>Ability to provide solutions for general contractors and owners to contribute to underwriting of Builders Risk accounts.</li>
<li>Work independently with the ability to be an open‑minded team player willing to actively listen and comprehend unique circumstances requiring practical solutions to complex issues.</li>
<li>Robust insured and broker interaction in assigned geographic territory to target current and prospective contacts.</li>
<li>Excellent written and oral communication skills to work with internal teams and external brokers.</li>
<li>Excellent organizational, time‑management and multi‑tasking skills.</li>
<li>Excellent comprehension and work experience with Microsoft Office Suite.</li>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree preferred with advanced education and/or professional designations.</li>
<li>Willingness to travel (approximately 25% travel) within assigned geographic territory.</li>
