Our dynamic company offers employees a collaborative, client-focused and business casual workplace with excellent benefits, and a unique supportive family culture.</p><p><br></p><p>If you embody integrity, teamwork, passionate excellence, and you enjoy working in a high-performing and high-energy environment, we are currently recruiting a highly motivated individual for the role of<strong> Structural Designer- Corrugated Displays.</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>JOB SUMMARY:</strong> </p><p>Create innovative designs using a variety of software to meet or exceed client requirements while balancing machine capability and production cost considerations.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Required Experience: Proven experience in corrugated structural design, specifically for Point of Purchase (POP) displays, is MANDATORY.</strong></li><li>Receives projects from the Client Operations Manager, reviews them for completeness and understanding, and works with the Project Manager if clarification is needed; can liaise with the customer if a relationship has been established.</li><li>Determines whether an existing design can be used (with improvements) or whether the project must be started from scratch; designs may take anywhere from a few hours to a week or more.</li><li>Maintains regular communication with other staff as the Creative Group works as a team to generate ideas and concepts.</li><li>Produces proposed design parameters using ARTIOS CAD and/or SolidWorks software; reviews them with the Account Manager and the client if clarification is required. Obtains a signed disclaimer if the client insists on a condition with which the Designer disagrees for technical reasons.</li><li>Maintains awareness of the price range for the product established by the Account Manager and produces a design that is compatible and a leading-edge solution consistent with customer requirements, always considering function and ease of assembly.</li><li>Provides routing that stays within machine capabilities and maintains constant communication with the production group as new designs are implemented and output continues.</li><li>Has infrequent communication with internal co-packers' line leaders.</li><li>Available to assist sales with technical information and customer visits.</li><li>Familiar with all facets of the manufacturing process to ensure all specifications are consistent and leverage company advantages.</li><li>Adheres to all relevant ISO procedures.</li><li>Continues to develop knowledge of industry trends, packaging materials, government regulations, and production/test methods.</li><li>Keeps the appropriate people informed of any deviation or delay in assigned tasks.</li><li>Works with Account Managers, Project Managers, Packaging and Display teams, and Production personnel to resolve issues concerning estimating, specifications, tooling, or any other factors affecting product quality.</li><li>Undertakes development projects to create new customers for our products.</li><li>Produces manufacturing specifications and emails completed designs to suppliers when requested.</li><li>Assists in checking incoming steel rule dies and mylars when requested.</li><li>Assists in the maintenance of the Design Department, including regular cleanup.</li><li>Performs other tasks as assigned.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>ACADEMIC AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p><ul><li>2-3 year certificate from college or technical school</li><li>Minimum 2-3 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and field experience</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>REQUIRED SKILLS:</strong></p><ul><li>Microsoft Office</li><li>Artios CAD</li><li>SolidWorks (preferred, but not required)</li><li>Cape/Tops</li><li>Adobe Illustrator</li><li>Strong relationship and communication skills, both written and verbal</li><li>Organizational and time management skills</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p><ul><li>Office environment with photocopiers, printers, etc.</li><li>Minimal travel between locations</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>About The Central Group of Companies</strong></p><p>Central Group is committed to equal opportunity employment.
