<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>Term of App&#39;t: </strong>Temporary, Full Time (30 hours/week) until May 1, 2026</p><p><strong>Start date:</strong> December 15, 2025</p><p><strong>Reporting to:</strong> Dean of Academic & Vocational Programs</p><p><strong>Salary:</strong></p><p>$50.07 - $56.75/hour depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay. No hours over the Christmas closure (December 25 - January 1). Employees in this group have the opportunity to contribute to the College Pension Plan, that are matched by the employer.</p><p><strong>Description:</strong></p><p>The Social Services Worker Diploma program is looking to hire an individual to instruct the SSWD courses below:</p><p><strong>SOWK 201</strong> – Introduction to Social Welfare</p><p><strong>SSWD 120</strong> – Ethics and Practice</p><p><strong>SSWD 220</strong> – Practicum and Seminar</p><p><strong>SSWD 215</strong> – Interpersonal Communications</p><p>This teaching assignment will be based on a full-time workload of 30 hours per week, therefore one additional SSWD course or one additional section of the above list of courses will be added, to be determined based on enrollment, for a total of 5 courses to be taught Winter 2026.</p><p></p><p>For additional information about each of these course, please refer to <span >https://www.nlc.bc.ca/programs/social</span>-services-worker-diploma/</p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><p><em>Required</em></p><ul><li>Bachelor&#39;s degree in social work or social services, with a master&#39;s degree in a closely related discipline.</li><li>Minimum of five years of experience in a related field.</li><li>Demonstrated commitment to student motivation and achievement.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively to the College environment.</li></ul><p></p><p><em>Preferred</em></p><ul><li>Master&#39;s degree in social work.</li><li>Registered Social Worker (RSW) designation in British Columbia.</li><li>Completion of the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP) or an equivalent credential in adult education, or willingness to pursue such a credential.</li><li>Post-secondary teaching experience.</li><li>Experience using learning management systems (LMS) and teaching through multiple delivery modalities.</li><li>Professional experience in the social service field within rural and remote settings.</li><li>Experience teaching a culturally diverse student population, including Indigenous and international students.</li></ul><p>We thank all applicants for their interest in employment with NLC; however, only those contacted for an interview will be acknowledged. </p><p><em>To support employment equity and diversity in the workplace, we encourage all qualified applicants, including Indigenous Peoples, persons with disabilities, visible minorities, women, persons of diverse sexual orientation, gender identity or expression (LGBTQ2S+), and others who may contribute to diversity at Northern Lights College.</em></p><p><em>In the spirit of reconciliation, we are committed to increasing Indigenous Peoples&#39; representation throughout the institution and encourage applicants to self-identify as Indigenous--First Nation, Metis, or Inuit within cover letters and/or resume</em><em>.</em></p><p></p></p></p>
