<p><h3>Job Summary</h3>
<p>We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Learning Disability Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Highpoint, a category C prison located in the village of Stradishall in Suffolk. Highpoint is split into two sites – the North Building hosts around 390 males and the South Building hosts around 950 males – both with designated Healthcare Departments where you will be based.</p>

<h3>Hours</h3>
<ul>
<li>Monday – Sunday service</li>
<li>37.5 hours per week</li>
<li>Between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:15 p.m.</li>
<li>Rotas are issued 1 month in advance</li>
<li>One weekend off every four</li>
</ul>
<h3>Salary</h3>
<p>This full‑time position offers an annual salary of £43,609 – £49,175 FTE, depending on experience.</p>

<h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
<ul>
<li>Manage a caseload and provide comprehensive nursing care for adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour within the criminal justice setting.</li>
<li>Work with adults whose behaviours have led to offending and entry into the criminal justice system.</li>
<li>Collaborate with the multi‑disciplinary team to conduct person‑centred specialist behavioural assessments, planning and coordination of positive, non‑aversive behavioural approaches.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications required</h3>
<ul>
<li>Registered Nurse with NMC Registration – Learning Disabilities</li>
<li>Evidence of Continued Professional Development</li>
<li>Substantial experience working with adults with learning disabilities across a range of clinical presentations</li>
<li>Experience of delivering learning disability health in a community or inpatient setting</li>
<li>Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment is desirable but not essential</li>
</ul>
<h3>UK Registration</h3>
<p>Applicants must hold current UK professional registration.</p>
