Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert‑level administration and operational support for IBM RACF within the OPS mainframe environment.
  • Analyze and resolve complex RACF security issues, including access violations, improper access denials, and audit findings
  • Implement SSL/TLS Certificate Renewals on the Mainframe environment.
  • Participate in incident, problem, and change management activities, including CRQs, implementation planning, and root‑cause analysis.
  • Provide on‑call Level‑2 RACF support in a 24x7 mission‑critical environment.
  • Support RACF‑related aspects of disaster recovery, business resumption planning, and annual contingency testing.
  • Provide technical consultation, mentoring, and guidance to IAMP staff, ITS teams, and authorized ministry stakeholders.
  • Ensure delivery of complete and up‑to‑date RACF documentation, including procedures, standards, runbooks, and knowledge transfer artifacts.
  • Support knowledge transfer activities.

    Experience and Skill Set Requirements:

    Must Haves:

  • 15+ years hands-on experience with IBM RACF administration in z/OS mainframe environments.
  • Proficiency with IBM zSecure suite for RACF auditing and automation tasks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and operational support experience with Mainframe technology in a large scale environment similar as the Government of Ontario and 10+ years demonstrated experience in complex projects related to installation/setup, migrations and upgrades.
  • Solid understanding of z/OS system internals, TSO/ISPF, JCL, JES2/3, and general mainframe architecture.
  • Excellent communication skills to interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    • Skill Set Requirements:

    RACF Technical Expertise:

  • 15+ years hands-on experience with IBM RACF administration in z/OS mainframe environments. 
  • Proficiency with IBM zSecure suite for RACF auditing and automation tasks.

    • Mainframe Systems Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and operational support experience with Mainframe technology in a large scale environment similar as the Government of Ontario and 10+ years demonstrated experience in complex projects related to installation/setup, migrations and upgrades.
  • Solid understanding of z/OS system internals, TSO/ISPF, JCL, JES2/3, and general mainframe architecture.
  • Comfortable with utilities for security maintenance (e.g., IRRUT200/IRRUT400, RLIST/SETROPTS).

    • Security & Compliance experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance frameworks (SOX, PCI DSS, HIPAA).
  • Experience with access control best practices and risk management.

    • Communication & Interpersonal:

  • Excellent communication skills to interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate technical security risks into business impact insights.
