Client: Global Charity Organization Title: Release / Deployment Manager Contract Duration: 9 months, renewable Location: Remote, with occasional travel (10%) to Toronto Head Office Rate: Negotiable Our client is in the Global Humanitarian Organization, in search for an experienced and dynamic Release / Cutover Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in deployment and cutover management, with extensive experience in testing, particularly in business User Acceptance Testing (UAT). This role demands high attention to detail and the ability to assertively manage multiple workstreams, ensuring seamless integration and consistency across the board. Key Responsibilities 1. Deployment and Cutover Management – Plan and oversee the end-to-end release process for new software applications and updates. – Coordinate cutover activities, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. – Develop and maintain cutover plans, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and prepared. 2. Testing Leadership (UAT) – Lead and manage UAT cycles, ensuring thorough testing and validation of business requirements. – Facilitate end-to-end testing across multiple domains, identifying and addressing any issues. – Collaborate with business users to develop UAT test cases and scenarios. 3. Cross-Functional Coordination – Interface with various workstreams to ensure commonality and consistency in deployment processes. – Facilitate communication between technical teams, business units, and other stakeholders. – Identify and mitigate risks related to release and cutover activities. 4. Process Improvement – Continuously seek ways to improve release and cutover processes. – Implement best practices and standardize procedures across different projects. – Monitor and report on the effectiveness of release and cutover activities, recommending improvements where necessary. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in deployment and cutover management. Extensive experience in testing, with a strong focus on business UAT. Proven track record of conducting end-to-end and UAT testing in multiple domains. Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Assertive personality with excellent communication and leadership abilities. Ability to manage multiple workstreams and ensure consistent processes across them. Proficiency in project management tools and software. Preferred Skills Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or related field. Experience in Agile or DevOps environments. Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and ITIL processes.
