<p><h3>Temporary Purchasing Manager (12-Month Contract)</h3>
<p><b>Department:</b> Procurement / Supply Chain</p>
<p><b>Division:</b> Reflective Products Division</p>
<p><b>Location:</b> Toronto, ON</p>
<p><b>Duration:</b> 12 months (Temporary Backfill)</p>
<p><b>Position Summary</b></p>
<p>We are seeking a results‑driven Purchasing Manager to temporarily lead the procurement function for the Reflective Products Division for a one‑year term. This role ensures continuity of supply, supports ongoing sourcing projects, and sustains key supplier relationships while maintaining a strong focus on cost optimization, quality, and operational efficiency.</p>
<p>The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing procurement and will continue driving initiatives related to supplier qualification, material trials, and workflow standardization across the division.</p>
<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Manage day‑to‑day purchasing activities for raw materials, films, foils, adhesives, and packaging components.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate ERP/MRP data, including safety stocks, lead times, and reorder points to ensure uninterrupted supply.</li>
<li>Review and approve purchase orders, ensuring alignment with production requirements and inventory targets.</li>
<li>Coordinate with Planning, Operations, and Finance teams to balance cost, delivery, and efficiency objectives.</li>
<li>Oversee supplier performance, ensuring quality, pricing consistency, and on‑time delivery.</li>
<li>Support supplier consolidation and strategic sourcing initiatives across related product divisions.</li>
<li>Work with suppliers to qualify new materials (e.g., woven, METPET, aluminum foil) and develop alternate sourcing options.</li>
<li>Collaborate on ongoing trials and supplier evaluations, maintaining accurate documentation and communication with all stakeholders.</li>
<li>Monitor market trends, metal (foil) pricing, and LME fluctuations to anticipate cost impacts.</li>
<li>Support cost analysis and price benchmarking for major raw materials.</li>
<li>Drive value improvement initiatives and identify cost‑saving opportunities through negotiation and process optimization.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Workflow & Compliance</h3>
<ul>
<li>Maintain standardized procurement workflows, documentation, and reporting processes.</li>
<li>Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and ethical sourcing standards.</li>
<li>Provide regular updates on key metrics (e.g., cost savings, supplier performance, supply risk) to management.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.</li>
<li>Minimum 5 years of progressive purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing or packaging.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and purchasing analytics (Excel proficiency required).</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience managing suppliers for films, foils, and adhesives.</li>
<li>Proven negotiation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across internal and external teams.</li>
<li>Strategic sourcing and supplier collaboration.</li>
