Our client, located in Toronto is looking for a Manager, IT Vendor Management and Compliance to join them on a 12 month contract basis at their Toronto office (hybrid)
NOTE: There are no direct reports, but this individual will be responsible for providing guidance, support and mentorship to the rest of the team (3-5 people).
Looking for a well-spoken candidate with great attention to detail that has experience with:
– IT vendor management experience ( Technology services and equipment procurement), contract negotiation, end-to-end RFPs, vendor selection, cost tracking (manage vendor spend), etc
– reporting experience (Financials, Audits, Compliance and Risk Management)
– vendor evaluation, selection and relationship management
– strong influencing and negotiation skills
– SW/HW experience
– detailed oriented and with excellent written and oral skills
The role involves managing vendor relationships, overseeing end-to-end RFX processes, contract review, and ensuring vendors adhere to SLAs. It also includes streamlining procurement processes, benchmarking vendors, and promoting transparency in vendor selection. Financial management of contracts, establishing business case standards, and maintaining cost models are part of financial oversight. Additionally, managing compliance, audits, and risk mitigation strategies are crucial, along with facilitating stakeholder communication and organizing technology ecosystem events. Lastly, the role focuses on integrating continuous improvement activities and ensuring internal processes align with best practices.
Advantages
As a member of the Technology division, the Manager of IT Vendor Management & Compliance will oversee various aspects such as managing the Technology budget, headcount, variance analysis, and overall IT costs, while striving to optimize value for the Foundation. This role involves spearheading the procurement of Technology services and equipment, negotiating contracts, and ensuring adherence to contractual SLAs and agreements. The objective is to establish a top-tier Technology ecosystem that benefits all departments within the organization.
Additionally, this position will collaborate closely with the Foundation’s Legal, Audit, and Risk management teams to manage Technology audits and compliance activities. Furthermore, aligning with Finance processes and milestones, the Manager will oversee the planning process. Interaction with the Internal Communications and People & Culture teams will be essential to validate Technology-related communication.
Lastly, the Manager will take charge of continuous improvement initiatives to streamline IT Functional processes, ensuring they are efficient and effective in supporting the organization as a whole.
Responsibilities
• Vendor Management:
Engage vendors, oversee RFX process, review contracts, and ensure adherence to SLAs.
Streamline procurement with Procurement and Finance, and ethically benchmark vendors.
Conduct vendor reviews and maintain positive relationships, focusing on mutual benefit.
Assist stakeholders in Technology procurement and advocate for a beneficial Technology ecosystem.
• Financials, Audits, Compliance, and Risk Management:
Manage vendor spend in alignment with contracts, establish business case standards, and develop cost models.
Promote accountability and oversee IT Business Plan metrics and reporting.
Collaborate on IT compliance, audits, and risk mitigation with Legal, Audit, and Risk Management teams.
Develop and execute vendor risk management programs and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
Maintain governance frameworks and provide visibility of vendor risks to business partners.
Continuously assess operational risks and report on high-risk vendor contracts.
• Stakeholder Communication:
Collaborate with Foundation functions, communicate IT value, and support ExCo and Board materials.
Coordinate Technology Ecosystem events to facilitate connections with tech vendors.
• Benefits Realization:
Integrate continuous improvement within the Technology function and ensure adherence to best practices.
Qualifications
• Over a decade of experience in Finance, Procurement, or IT roles
• Holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, or Technology
• Proficient in financial planning, contracts negotiation, and cost tracking and management
• Exhibits robust consulting, influencing, and negotiation abilities to ensure alignment across various stakeholders
• Strong business acumen with advanced financial skills; experience in negotiating global contracts is advantageous
• Well-versed in Audits, Compliance, and Risk management
• Driven by a continuous improvement mindset
• Capable of managing multiple complex processes and initiatives simultaneously
• Customer-focused, consistently seeking feedback to enhance service quality, reliability, and timeliness
• Familiar with leveraging emerging technologies and service providers to enhance operational efficiency
