IT Solutions Specialist, Messaging

What You’ll Do

As a national law firm, we invest in a modern technology environment to ensure the availability and performance of key business systems and services provided to clients. You will be involved in a wide range of activities, closely working with IT service owners, SMEs and other stakeholders across the firm.

Your key duties and responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Monitoring email infrastructure utilization and performance, including inbound and outbound email flows.
  • Maintaining configuration and documentation (on-prem and cloud email systems, inbound and outbound email filtering solutions).
  • Maintaining, monitoring, alerting and reporting capabilities for the email infrastructure.
  • Collaborating with other IT teams on topics related to email infrastructure reliability.
  • Working closely with the Information Security team on inbound and outbound filtering.
  • Collaborating with the business and Information Governance teams on processes related to email management.
  • Maintaining email infrastructure hygiene and governance around access control, distribution lists, shared mailboxes, delegated mailbox access.
  • Managing the email vault system and assist business users with searches; prepare management reports for IT and Information Governance teams.
  • Coordinating contract renewals for licensing and support of the email infrastructure components, while monitoring for optimal utilization.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Occasional work outside of regular business hours for infrastructure changes.
  • What You Bring

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange 2019, Exchange Online, Outlook, M365, Cisco Email Security/IronPort, Proofpoint
  • Experience with Veritas/Symantec Vault, Litera Workshare Secure/Protect/Metadact, dmarcian is an asset
  • Ability to design with support to develop long-term roadmaps, vision and architecture in alignment with the overall IT strategy
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with various teams and stakeholders
  • Exceptional critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure
