IT Project Control Officer PCO – Bilingual

The main function of an IT Project Control Officer, PCO is to provide project support to the PMO in planning, executing, controlling all phases of the project(s). The role will be status management, reporting, financial tracking, issue and risk management, schedule management and resource management. This role reports to the Director of PMO.


Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, business management or equivalent

Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent an asset

Proficiency in complex Excel worksheets and formulas

Working knowledge of PowerBI and how to extract and report on large data sets in aggregate – an asset

Proficiency in data visualization, metrics, and patterns to produce insightful reports and collaborate with the PMO team to enhance and automate reporting.

Contribute towards development of data standards, data dictionaries, processes, and definitions of project and data requirements in support of strategy and ongoing operational support.

Demonstrates understanding and application of project management tools and methodologies

Familiarity with IT concepts, methodology and vocabulary is an asset

Effective planning and organizational experience to set priorities and co-ordinate projects to meet deadlines

Effective organizational skills sufficient to manage competing and changing priorities within a dynamic environment

Solid problem-solving skills and analytical skills to creatively develop unique solutions/approaches to resolve issues

Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with multiple clients, teams and partners

Proactive customer service focus

Proficiency in project portfolio management application tools; (Planview, Microsoft Project, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

– 5-8+ years PCO experience within IT

– 2+ years of previous experience supporting Project Management efforts from an organizational standpoint as a Project Coordinator, Project Administration, or Project Manager

Flexible to take on Project Coordinator and Project Manager responsibilities as required.

Proven experience with forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis

Excellent communication both verbally and through written/dashboard reporting in French and English
