About the Position

As an IT Help Desk Support Specialist, you be responsible for providing administration, maintenance, and internal support for employee computer desktops and related equipment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and supporting the internal IT Helpdesk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and respond to requests for technical assistance via the Help Desk. Provide support in person, via phone, or remote access tools, ensuring timely resolution of help desk requests.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with computer software, peripherals, and hardware.
  • Research questions and problems using both internal and external sources, including other IT Department personnel. Own the request completely, but also understanding when escalation is needed.
  • Install and upgrade hardware and software according to Information Technology standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Set up new user accounts for employees and contractors and ensure the secure and timely deactivation of accounts for exiting staff members.
  • Tag new hardware and maintain associated equipment data into the IT Inventory systems.
  • Establish and maintain adequate hardware, software, telephone equipment, and network and database access for all employees.
  • Conduct IT orientation for new employees and contractors to review IT policies, review procedures for reporting help desk requests, and familiarize employees with new equipment and software system.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in Information Systems, Business, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • At least one year’s experience in an IT Help Desk Support role.
  • Understanding of networking, hardware, software, and operating system basics.
  • Experience installing software, patches, updates on desktop computers and laptops.
  • Professional demeanor and the ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
  • Working knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365, Apple OS/equipment, desktop, and web applications.
  • Passion for technology and serving others.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with other software a plus (TeamViewer, MS Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
