Role IT EPMO Project Manager

Job Responsibilities — Works closely with the project sponsor to understand the project’s overall business proposition and scope, goals/objectives, stakeholders, planned benefits and constraints
— Develops a project management plan that will be agreed upon by the project sponsor and act a guide through the life of the project including cost management, schedule management, risk/issues management, stakeholder/communication/org change management, quality management, scope management, project organization
— Develops project estimates and refines throughout the life of the project working with the Controller using standard and industry leading methods
— Develops a clear, feasible, project plan working with the Scheduler and project team along with gaining commitment of resources and plan buy in from all impacted stakeholders
— Supports with the Project Sponsor on all business case develop/funding request and approval steps with funding bodies and financial departments
— Establishes proper governance and sets clear expectation on responsibilities
— Leads the project team through all stages of execution of the project plan and directs all project activities to ensure progress to schedule, budget and planned business case benefits
— Facilitates stakeholder and governance communication
— Works with the Controller and Scheduler through the life of the project to gain insight on the project health and potential risks and project decisions that need to be made to ensure successful delivery of the project
— Evaluate and proactively manages individual project risks and contingency every week at minimum
— Lead and control the development of specification, quality, configuration and quantity of deliverables of the project
— Complete all control gates designated by the IT EPMO
— Comply with all IT EPMO standard processes and methods
— Keep a project artifact repository in the designated location throughout the life of the project for audit by the IT EPMO
— Provide all standard project health status reporting per standard cadence set by the IT EPMO and any project governing body designated for the project
— Continually evaluate progress and predict and mitigate problems with quality, cost, schedule and risk
Qualifications:
— 2-5 years of Project Management or related technical field required
— Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management, Business Administration or another related field required
— Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from Project Management Institute preferred
— Demonstrate understanding of formal Project Management processes, strategies and methods working with a centralized IT Project Management Office required
— Experience mentoring, coaching and developing rising talent preferred
— Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others required
— Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising department teams required
— Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality required
— Managerial experience applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills required
— Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles required
— Understanding of the Project Management Institute (PMI) framework required
— Knowledge of various project management methodologies (e.g., agile/scrum) required
— Ability to delegate effectively required
