Job Title: IT Data Specialist
Location: Toronto, Canada
Duration: 6-Month Contract
Pay Range: $60 – $70/hr
Work Type: Hybrid (On-site Twice a Week)
About the Role:
As an IT Data Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making within our organization. You will leverage your expertise in data analysis, modeling, and management to deliver valuable insights and support strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis and Modeling: Develop and implement robust data models and perform in-depth analysis using SQL and other relevant tools.
- Data Quality and Governance: Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency by implementing effective data quality measures and governance frameworks.
- BI and Reporting: Create comprehensive BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- ETL and Data Integration: Design and execute ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouse.
- Metadata Management: Maintain and enrich metadata to improve data discoverability and understanding.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in data analysis, data management, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, ETL tools, and BI platforms (e.g., Power BI).
- Data Governance: Understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: CRISC or CISSP certifications or equivalent experience.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the financial industry or a regulated environment.
- Programming: Familiarity with programming languages like Python or R.
