Advanced Systems Design is seeking an IT Auditor for our client located in Tallahassee, FL.

Job Overview:

Responsible for planning and performing audits of information systems and related processes in a multiplatform environment. This may include reviewing organizational IT policies, standards, and procedures and providing advice on their adequacy, accuracy, and compliance with government guidelines and regulatory requirements (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley Act); assisting management in the identification and assessment of technology-related risks, and reporting on the adequacy of risk-based controls; evaluating technology and business-related controls for integrated IT and business auditing efforts. Participates in new system development and implementation reviews by reviewing project documentation, conducting interviews, and assessing work completed.

Ensures that development efforts are in compliance with organizational policies, standards, and procedures, and controls are adequately incorporated into the systems; identifies areas of opportunity for process, control, or cost improvement. Works with outside auditors to help reconcile discrepancies or support the external auditing functions and local, and federal examinations. May be responsible for developing and implementing tools to support automated audit efforts. May perform due diligence and special review(s) work as required by management. Has working knowledge of generally applicable and accepted auditing standards and frameworks (e.g., COBIT) and best practices for IT services management (e.g., ITIL), government guidelines, and laws (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley Act).

Responsibilities and tasks may include but not limited to, the following:

  • Define objectives, scope, and methodology and develop a logical work plan for achieving engagement results;
  • Conduct professional interviews in compliance with standards and applicable regulations, ensuring all pertinent issues are adequately addressed;
  • Complete necessary engagement research and evaluate internal controls and risk exposures of the Lottery’s governance, operations, and information systems;
  • Obtain and quickly analyze and summarize complex data;
  • Conduct site visits and observes processes;
  • Determine compliance with policies, procedures, statutes, and applicable regulations;
  • Ensure work papers are logical and organized, accurate, legible, appropriately referenced, and completed timely;
  • Document the audit process and work papers in the electronic work paper system, ensuring steps are completed timely and in proper sequential order, with supervisory review and approval being obtained as necessary;
  • Produce a well-written report with clear findings and recommendations;
  • Plan and execute effective entrance and exit conferences with auditees;
  • Employ time management techniques to ensure the devotion of adequate time and resources for the successful completion of all projects;
  • Conduct follow-up of engagements to appraise the adequacy of management actions taken;
  • Conduct data mapping and analysis;
  • Determine user requirements for functional business computer applications;
  • Conduct research and provide opinions too, and prepare briefs for, the Inspector General;
  • Perform security analyses and risk assessments as needed;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of OIG policies and procedures, quality assurance and improvement program, annual risk assessment, audit plan, and annual report; and
  • Work in conjunction with Lottery audit staff on all engagements, being an effective team player who contributes valuable skills and ideas, while also recognizing and showing respect for others’ strengths and contributions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of IT work experience, including 2 to 3 years of IT auditing
  • Must have a Certified Information System Auditor (CISA)) or accounting professional designation (e.g., CPA)
  • Experience working on projects/issues of medium to high complexity that require demonstrated knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments.
  • Experience working on multiple auditing projects as a project leader or frequently as the subject matter expert.
  • Experience conducting data mapping and analysis;
  • Experience determining user requirements for functional business computer applications;
  • Experience conduct researching and providing opinions too, and preparing briefs for, the Inspector General;
  • Experience performing security analyses and risk assessments as needed;
  • Experience assisting in the development and implementation of OIG policies and procedures, quality assurance and improvement program, annual risk assessment, audit plan, and annual report

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or another related field.
