- Contribute to the audit planning process for specific business units or functional areas, including developing audit plans, identifying resource requirements, and establishing budgets.
- Take overall responsibility for the completion of audits, including planning and leading audit engagements, overseeing staff involved in multiple audits, and communicating audit scope and findings to business stakeholders.
- Perform testing in critical areas of audits, review audit documentation, and oversee the follow-up on findings and validation of issues.
- Ensure audits are conducted in accordance with established standards, meeting prescribed time, budget, and scope parameters to achieve deadlines.
- Supervise a small to medium-sized team assigned to audits, providing coaching and performance feedback throughout the audit process.
- Evaluate internal and external risks associated with assigned business lines or functions, leveraging subject matter expertise.
- Act as the primary liaison with management regarding audit scope, findings, and ongoing status updates.
- Required: Bachelor’s degree; preferred: Advanced degree.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Advanced analytical capabilities.
- Proactive in escalating issues and delays, and effective at managing competing priorities.
- In-depth knowledge of banking regulations impacting the assigned area and advanced functional audit skills.
- Relevant certifications required, with strong project management abilities.
- Expertise in designated subject matter areas, including leading and managing small to medium-sized teams.
- Preferred banking experience
- utilization to meet utilization rate targets, with accountability for team and divisional recognition.
- Delivers effective presentations, training sessions, and successfully onboards and orients new hires.
- Experience in AML audits.
