<p>Akkodis is currently searching for an <b>IT Security Professional</b> for our client within the Ottawa area.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Job Description:</b></p><ul><li>Provide 3rd-line support for resolving complex IT security related incidents and problems, including root cause analysis and resolution. </li><li>Review, analyze and apply Networking protocols including, Internet Security protocols and TCP/IP as needed.</li><li>Identify and analyze threats and vulnerabilities of IT infrastructure through installing, monitoring and detecting faults in intrusion and detection and prevention systems, firewalls and networks devices, malicious code, anti-spam and content management tools. </li><li>Produce the design, test and implementation plan for installation and updates of operating systems. </li><li>Install firewalls and content checkers. </li><li>Document, test and implement solutions for new requirements and modifications to existing IT security infrastructure and assess feasibility of implementing solutions developed by other defence organizations. </li><li>5 days/week on site.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Mandatory Experience Required/Must Haves:</b></p><ul><li>GOC <b>Top Secret</b> security clearance (please provide file no. with application).</li><li>3 years of experience within the past 5 years working within a GOC secret network or above. </li><li>10 years of experience working with and managing IT products and infrastructures, including one of: Microsoft Network Operating Systems or, IP Networks or, Applications Integration. </li><li>Designing and maintaining security networking equipment, which may include but is not limited to: Guards and Gateways, Intrusion Detection Systems, Firewalls, Border Protection Services, Cryptographic Devices, Data Diodes</li><li>Strong knowledge and working experience with Layer 7 IT security protocols and products. </li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Additional Requirements/Nice to Haves:</b></p><ul><li>Experience working in a National Defence environment. </li><li>Strong knowledge and working experience with: Firewalls (preferably Cisco and Palo Alto)</li><li>Routing/Switches, Proxy, Domain Name System (DNS). </li><li>Layer 7 security experience such as: HTTP/SMTP protocols, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Mail Guard, Trustwave MailMarshal, Skyhigh, McAfee Web Gateway OR McAfee Chat Gateway. </li><li>University degree or college diploma in engineering, computer science or an IT related field. </li></ul><p><br></p><p>Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume in confidence to the LinkedIn job posting, by email to or on the Akkodis Canada website.
