An individual with the stamina and ability to stand for long periods of time and work in all-weather conditions.</p><p></p><p>With this entry level position, the ideal candidate is someone who possesses a strong work ethic, demonstrates a positive attitude, shows initiative, is reliable, has good attendance, and can follow instructions, especially the company&#39;s Health & Safety rules.</p><p><br /></p><p>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p><p>The primary duties and responsibilities assigned to this position are as follows:</p><ul><li>Identify, pick and sort various (scrap) metal pieces</li><li>Ensures the quality of the metals/materials being sorted and picked</li><li>Shovels work area and cleans equipment as often as required</li><li>Recognizes operational issues and reports them to the manager</li><li>Operates equipment (when required) while adhering to all safe work practices and procedures</li><li>Works in accordance with all company health & safety guidelines</li><li>Assists in other areas of the business as the need arises</li><li>Other duties as assigned by the manager</li></ul><p>QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:</p><ul><li><em>We are willing to train the right candidate, </em>however<em>, </em>previous experience in a scrapyard, processing plant or construction-like setting is considered an asset</li><li>Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (working at elevated heights, working in all weather conditions, standing for long periods of time, lifting of up to 50lbs)</li><li>Reliability and a strong attendance record</li><li>Quick and attentive learner</li><li>Detail-oriented and consistent performer</li><li>Good hand-eye coordination</li><li>Good mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity</li><li>Working knowledge of safety standards</li><li>Strong communication skills</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work professionally, and respectfully with a positive attitude in a fast-paced working environment</li><li>High level of personal integrity; must be trustworthy</li><li>Strong work ethic and ability to complete work in a timely manner</li><li>Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed</li><li>Strong team player</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>This position works Monday to Friday starting at 7am.
