We’re looking for a Financial Specialist to join our passionate team of IT finance professionals!
As a Financial Specialist, you will support activities related to the IT Finance, Governance function. You’ll be working alongside an inspiring and knowledgeable team of experts – the best industry has to offer – and together, you’ll be instrumental in supporting Intact’s growth objectives.
What you’ll do here:
Oversee the implementation and execution of IT Finance governance framework
Build and maintain a monthly forecast on IT purchase order related expenses
Perform reconciliations between different IT systems for G/L accounts used in IT
Assist in accounting month end by completing governance on timely recognition of actuals
Provide guidance on completing purchase order accruals
Validate monthly reporting of actuals by G/L, report discrepancies and identify corrections (reclasses)
Collaborate with relevant teams to improve IT purchase order guidelines and templates
Identify improvements to purchase order reporting in IT projects and G/L
Develop improvement roadmap for IT purchase order reporting
Develop and refine documentation of IT Finance best practices, guidelines and implementation of new processes as required
Identify financial risks and asses the need for new financial controls
Lead IT financial operational audits and reviews of expenses
Educate and train IT community on financial best practices and processes
Simplify report creation by taking advantage of opportunities to automate and streamline processes
Provide expert advice to Finance and/or IT colleagues on financial matters proactively and in response to requests or situations as they arise.
Provide support to a variety of ad hoc projects and initiatives as required

What you bring to the table:
Post secondary education in accounting / finance / economics / data & analytics is a requirement.
CPA / CFA designation is an asset.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, audit and finance
Minimum 5 years experience with managing IT purchase expenses in software, hardware, and consulting engagements is required.
Advanced proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint is required.
Knowledge of Oracle, Power BI / Power Query is an asset.
Experience working with an expense management tool.
Experience documenting financial guidelines and providing training to IT stakeholders is a strong asset.
Good communication (verbal & written) and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of IFRS / GAAP accounting standards
Demonstrated success as a solid team player, comfortable contributing within a team of peers
Demonstrate entrepreneurship, creativity, and critical thinking.
Ability to multi-task in a face pace environment against challenging timelines and workload pressures
For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
