New staff are given strong support and direction but are encouraged to gain freedom through commitment and results.</p><p>Summary</p><p>The EMC will assist with the coordination and execution of up to 25 events per year, as well as various marketing tactics. The EMC must be able to provide outstanding customer service, be an enthusiastic professional, have the ability to problem-solve, be willing to work occasional evenings and many weekends, and be able to build relationships with internal and external customers.</p><p>Responsibilities</p><p>Special Event Organizer (75%)</p><p>Tournaments & Social Events</p><ul><li>Manage the execution of the full Special Event calendar (up to 25 tournaments annually)</li><li>Manage registrations and work with the Marketing Managers to sell out every event</li><li>Prepare logistics leading up to each event (player correspondence, bookings, paperwork, etc.)</li><li>Pack and transport supplies</li><li>Run the events (set-up facility, answer questions, complete standings, take-down, etc.)</li><li>Complete tournament wrap-up items after the event (website updates, surveys, reviews, etc.)</li></ul><p>Corporate Events</p><ul><li>Assist in the execution of team building events for Corporate clients</li><li>Develop creative event plans that align with the team building goals of Corporate clients</li><li>Run Corporate events (set-up equipment, facilitate activities, take-down, etc.)</li><li>Develop company prospecting lists</li></ul><p>Season-End & Post-Tournament Parties</p><ul><li>Party preparation in the office (manage/prep champ shirt orders, player correspondence, etc.)</li><li>Set-up/take down of bar</li><li>Socialize with party-goers</li><li>Assist with distributing championship shirts and prizing</li></ul><p>Marketing Assistant (25%)</p><p>Marketing Tactics</p><ul><li>Administrative support for digital advertising</li><li>Develop and send promotional emails (primarily for tournaments and events)</li><li>Create print material for leagues and tournaments</li></ul><p>Tradeshows</p><ul><li>Assist with bookings</li><li>Assist with organizing and training staff</li><li>Set-up and take-down, as needed</li><li>Working at events, as needed</li></ul><p>Events Team</p><ul><li>Assist in Events Team management</li><li>Manage promotional supplies</li><li>Process pay requests</li></ul><p>Key Requirements</p><p>Experience</p><ul><li>Degree or diploma from a recognized University or College</li><li>Previous customer service experience</li><li>Previous event experience is an asset</li><li>High level of computer competence with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)</li><li>Past ESSC experience and/or sports background is an asset</li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>Communication skills (writing, proof reading, and speaking)</li><li>Reliable</li><li>Organized</li><li>High attention to detail</li><li>Outgoing</li><li>Problem solver</li><li>Confident public speaker</li><li>Conflict management skills</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team</li><li>Full access to a vehicle is required</li></ul><p>Compensation</p><p>Salary</p><ul><li>$45,000 Annual Salary</li><li>$1,000 Annual Bonus Opportunity</li><li>Annual Performance Evaluations and Raises</li><li>Comprehensive Group Health Benefits Package w/ Alberta Blue Cross</li><li>$1,000 Annual Health and Wellness Spending Allowance</li><li>$40/Month Cell Phone Allowance</li></ul><p>Vacation</p><ul><li>3 Weeks Vacation</li><li>4 Flex Fridays & Birthday Off</li><li>3 Paid Volunteer Days</li></ul><p>Perks</p><ul><li>Unlimited Free Play in Sport & Social Club Leagues and Tournaments</li><li>Edmonton Oiler Season Tickets</li><li>Professional Development Training</li><li>Casual Dress Code</li><li>Company/Team Bonding Events</li><li>Free Parking</li><li>Internal Career Progression/Mobility Opportunities</li><li>Professional Development Allowance</li><li>Annual Sports Gear Allowance</li></ul><p>Job Type: Full-time</p><p>Pay: $45,000.00 per year</p><p>Work Location: In person</p><h3>About Calgary & Edmonton Sport and Social Clubs</h3><br><p>Sports and Recreation Instruction</p><p>11-50</p><p>The Calgary Sport & Social Club was founded in 1996 and the Edmonton Sport & Social Club opened its doors 10 years later.
