<p><b>Project Manager - Building Science & Building Restoration</b></p><p><b>Location: Cambridge, Ontario</b></p><p><b>Compensation: $90,000 - $140,000 + Bonus + Relocation Assistance (if required)</b></p><p><br></p><p><b>ABOUT THE ROLE</b></p><p>A leading building restoration and engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced <b>Project Manager with strong Building Science expertise</b> for its Cambridge, Ontario office. This position offers the opportunity to manage <b>restoration, assessment, and building envelope projects</b> while working closely with clients, contractors, and internal technical teams.</p><p>If you enjoy <b>hands-on site work, technical leadership, and driving projects from assessment through construction completion</b>, this role provides the perfect mix of engineering, project management, and client-facing interaction.</p><p><br></p><p><b>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p><p><b>Capital Planning & Technical Review</b></p><ul><li>Prepare and lead <b>Reserve Fund Studies (RFS), Performance Audits (PA), and Building Condition Assessments (BCA)</b>.</li><li>Assess site conditions and recommend required <b>restoration or rehabilitation projects</b>.</li><li>Interpret Declarations, By-laws, Shared Facility Agreements, and legal survey drawings.</li><li>Utilize expertise in <b>Ontario Building Code</b>, Property Standards By-laws, Tarion Guidelines, Condo Law, and warranty processes.</li><li>Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure successful delivery.</li></ul><p><b>Building Condition Assessments</b></p><ul><li>Perform and oversee <b>site reviews, component evaluations, and technical analyses</b>.</li><li>Review building drawings and specifications to identify deficiencies and repair needs.</li><li>Prepare and present repair options and cost estimates.</li><li>Support long-term capital planning strategies for various property types.</li></ul><p><b>Building Restoration & Building Envelope</b></p><ul><li>Provide technical leadership in building envelope remediation including:</li><li>Curtain wall & glazing systems</li><li>Wall assemblies & cladding</li><li>Roofing systems</li><li>Balcony and structural components</li><li>Parking garage rehabilitation</li><li>Above- and below-grade waterproofing</li><li>Conduct <b>building science diagnostics</b>, testing, and investigations to determine root causes.</li><li>Develop and recommend restoration solutions tailored to client goals and budgets.</li></ul><p><b>Project Management & Execution</b></p><ul><li>Oversee the full project lifecycle including scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and delivery.</li><li>Prepare or review <b>technical specifications, tender documents, and schematic designs</b>.</li><li>Conduct contract administration and manage relationships with contractors.</li><li>Mentor and support Project Associates and technical staff.</li><li>Ensure all deliverables meet client objectives and quality expectations.</li></ul><p><b>Client Relationship Management</b></p><ul><li>Maintain strong, proactive communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle.</li><li>Respond promptly to inquiries and provide clear guidance and recommendations.</li><li>Seek client feedback and implement improvements.</li><li>Identify additional opportunities for work at client properties.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS</b></p><p><b>Technical Background</b></p><ul><li><b>Minimum 5+ years</b> of experience in building science consulting.</li><li>Experience in <b>Building Envelope Restoration, Capital Planning, BCAs, and Restoration Project Delivery</b>.</li><li>Professional designation preferred: <b>P.Eng</b>.</li><li>Strong background in preparing <b>specifications, proposals, BCAs, technical reports, and cost estimates</b>.</li><li>Experience working on multi-residential, commercial, institutional, municipal, or community housing properties.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Core Skills</b></p><ul><li>Strong leadership and team mentorship abilities.</li><li>Clear and professional written and verbal communication.</li><li>Analytical thinker with a solutions-oriented mindset.</li><li>Highly organized with strong prioritization and planning skills.</li><li>Adaptable, driven, and comfortable working in dynamic field and office environments.</li><li>Excellent client service approach; confident in presenting and interacting with stakeholders.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>WHY THIS ROLE IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY</b></p><ul><li>Work on high-profile <b>restoration, rehabilitation, and building envelope projects</b> across the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge region.</li><li>Become part of a collaborative, communication-first engineering environment.</li><li>A clear path for professional growth, mentorship, and technical advancement.</li><li>Competitive salary <b>($90K-$140K)</b>, performance-based bonus, and <b>relocation assistance</b> if needed.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b> </b></p>Create Your Resume First
