This position is part of a unionized bargaining unit. The hourly wage for this position starts at $16.60 and is established in accordance with the collective agreement. Depending on a candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, and prior experience, a higher hourly wage may be offered. Any hourly wage offered for this role, whether starting or higher, will fall within the wage scale established for this position in accordance with the collective agreement.

Our Produce team is fundamental to Metro’s overall success with a focus on always fresh, in stock, and up to standards. The Produce Clerk is responsible for the preparation of produce products for retail display and sale to customers in a safe and sanitary manner. They are also involved in servicing Metro’s customers in a courteous, friendly and efficient manner!

Responsibilities
- Prepare produce products for retail display and sale in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Serve Metro’s customers in a courteous, friendly, and efficient manner.
- Assist with stocking merchandise and creating displays.
- Maintain good product knowledge and attention to detail.
- Support the Produce team in daily operations and ensure accuracy of stock.
- Able to stand for long periods of time and work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Location and shift details may require adjustments to meet Metro’s business objectives.
Qualifications
- Customer service driven
- Able to stock merchandise and create displays
- Good product knowledge and attention to detail
- Retail experience considered an asset
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be available to work flexible shifts which may include nights and weekends
