<p>Electrical design consultancy is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their growing operations in Squamish BC. Salary level from $70,000 – $90,000. <a href="#">Outpost Recruitment</a> is excited to work with our client on this full-time permanent role.</p><p>As a key member of the team you can expect to assist the electrical design of various small, medium and large-scale building projects. From solving difficult coordination problems to working closely with all stakeholders you will have the opportunity to be part of projects that will be around for generations to come.</p><h3>Core Competencies of Electrical Engineer</h3><ul><li>Team and project leadership experience and ability to assist and /or manage delivery of multi-discipline projects interface with our clients</li><li>Strong relationships with local clients and industry partners</li><li>Proven business development experience and work-winning track record</li><li>Ability to contribute to the holistic leadership of our Vancouver office.</li></ul><h3>Duties and Responsibilities of Electrical Engineer:</h3><ul><li>AutoCAD drafting and design operations</li><li>Provide technical assistance to the Senior Designers/Project Managers/Team Leaders as follows:</li><li>Maintain Design (“B” file) file</li><li>Perform Cable calculations</li><li>Perform Lighting modelling</li><li>LV, HC, control and lighting schematic design layout and final design</li><li>Ensure company design checklist is being followed</li><li>Ensure company AutoCAD Standards are being followed</li><li>Maintain AutoCAD files</li><li>Prepare preliminary motor list</li><li>Prepare equipment selections using company selection procedures</li><li>Co-ordinate electrical requirements with other disciplines involved in the project design team (i.e. Architects, Structural Consultants, Mechanical Consultants, Code Consultants, Geotechnical Consultants, etc.)</li><li>Co-ordinate service requirements/connections with the respective utility and/or municipal agencies</li><li>Review and process shop drawings</li><li>Assist in training junior staff and reviewing their work</li><li>Provide construction administration services as directed</li><li>Write various reports as directed</li><li>Attend site surveys</li></ul><h3><strong>Skills and Qualifications:</strong></h3><ul><li>Legally allowed to live and work in Canada</li><li>P.Eng through EGBC highly desirable</li><li>3+ years experience in electrical building services engineering design</li><li>Established experience across the full project lifecycle</li><li>Strong understanding of relevant electrical codes and standards</li><li>Ability to independently complete engineering analysis and design of electrical systems as well as liaise with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders</li><li>Ability to verify design work completed by others and provide mentoring, coaching, and training to less experienced engineers</li><li>Strong technical background that you want to continue to build on with experience across different market sectors including residential, office, education and the like</li><li>Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information of a complex nature both verbally and in writing with all stakeholders across multiple disciplines including colleagues and clients.</li></ul><h3><strong>Ideal Candidate:</strong></h3><p>Compensation: Package likely to be $70,000 – $90,000 depending on location, seniority and relevant experience.
