You will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical experts, drive innovation, and deliver exceptional client experiences while contributing to Dillon’s growth across Canada. The successful candidate can be based at any Dillon office listed: St. John's, Sydney, Halifax, Fredericton, Saint John, Vaughan, Guelph, Kitchener, Kingston, Hamilton, London, Chatham, Toronto, Windsor, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Yellowknife. Dillon offers flexible work hours to help balance work and life.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li><b>Technical Leadership & Innovation</b><ul><li>Maintain deep technical expertise and stay current with industry trends within Linear Municipal Infrastructure design and construction.</li><li>Develop and implement strategies to enhance the discipline’s technical skills.</li><li>Drive the integration of new technologies to improve internal processes and reduce costs.</li><li>Deliver significant innovation projects with supporting business case and success metrics.</li><li>Encourage the use of new solutions and showcase successful efficiency improvements.</li></ul></li><li><b>People & Team Development</b><ul><li>Lead and motivate a team of technical professionals, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.</li><li>Support the growth and development of Team Managers.</li><li>Promote a culture of innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.</li><li>Build and maintain strong relationships with Project Managers, Business Units, and key industry contacts.</li></ul></li><li><b>Delivery & Operational Excellence</b><ul><li>Meet or exceed financial targets while ensuring high-quality service and client satisfaction.</li><li>Develop and implement operational standards, best practices, and quality control processes to mitigate risk.</li><li>Proactively identify and manage health and safety risks.</li><li>Actively solicit and act on client feedback to improve service delivery.</li><li>Identify and pursue opportunities for organic business growth.</li></ul></li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>15 or more years of relevant experience.</li><li>Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in Canada, with extensive experience in civil engineering design and construction.</li><li>Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.</li><li>A passion for innovation, an aptitude for leveraging technology and a commitment to continuous improvement.</li></ul><h3>Experience</h3><ul><li>Proven leadership experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.</li><li>Deep understanding of the Canadian Civil Infrastructure market, including current trends, challenges, and opportunities.</li><li>Strong business development acumen, with a successful track record of identifying, pursuing, and winning new business opportunities in the market.</li><li>Experience with various project delivery models (e.g., design-bid-build, design-build).</li><li>Knowledge of relevant codes and standards.</li></ul><h3>Why Choose Dillon</h3><p>Dillon is powered by people who are technically proficient, passionate about socially important projects, and motivated to deliver superior, tangible results.
