<p>The Nuna Group of Companies is now accepting resumes for a Project Manager with large earthworks construction projects experience. Nuna is the largest Inuit-owned heavy civil construction, earthworks and mine construction contractor in Canada.</p>
<p>The Project Manager is accountable for directing the activities of a specific project which consists of trades and support personnel. Utilizing your leadership skills and experience to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. You must be well-organized and favor safety above everything else.</p>

<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3>
<h3>Safety</h3>
<ul>
<li>Ensures all safety policies, provisions and procedures, including safety meetings and investigations, are carried out as prescribed, and all incidents and accidents are reported to appropriate individuals in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Champions the process for incident investigations and ensures timely submissions of Loss Control Reports.</li>
<li>Ensures legislated unsafe work requirements (right to refuse) are enforced.</li>
<li>Ensures compliance to Corporate and client D&A Policies; Ensures Supervisory staff enforce post-incident testing where reasonable or where probable grounds exist.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Leadership</h3>
<ul>
<li>Acts as a mentor and leader for all subordinate managerial personnel.</li>
<li>Champions the disciplined adherence to the Company's Code of Conduct & Ethics, while ensuring compliance to all Safety & Environmental and other applicable policies & expectations.</li>
<li>Champions, and facilitates team work and harmony between all staff and crews by promoting and fostering a positive, visible team attitude.</li>
<li>Champions a culture of communication, clear accountability and effective documentation.</li>
<li>Ensures performance reviews are conducted on a regular basis and career development plans are in place for all divisional staff.</li>
<li>Communicates vision, mission, divisional strategy, targets, and successes.</li>
<li>Ensure and enforce compliance to all company, client and legislated Safety policies and procedures.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Project Controls & SOX</h3>
<ul>
<li>Updates and maintains the system of internal controls which have been developed by NAEPI to satisfy Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and other external reporting requirements for the processes which are in their area of responsibility.</li>
<li>Works with the Compliance team to ensure that controls are tested in accordance with the requirements on an ongoing basis.</li>
<li>Has an awareness of Sarbanes-Oxley legislation.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Effective Job Execution</h3>
<ul>
<li>Provides input to business development including pre-qualifications.</li>
<li>Manages and ensures compliance to Corporate and client policies, procedures, orientations, and pre-site access testing requirements for all new hires. Reports job fit results.</li>
<li>Provides input and direction into bid strategy, including completion of bid reviews, approval and signoff as required.</li>
<li>Negotiates contracts, change management and claims.</li>
<li>Conducts regular on and off-site project reviews for safety, QA and Operational (KPI) performance.</li>
<li>Ensures contract management, billing generation and collection.</li>
<li>Assigns optimal Project Management teams.</li>
<li>Ensures accurate and timely reporting of project financials.</li>
<li>Represents company at industry associations and major project partnerships.</li>
<li>Reports significant project concerns, issues, performance setbacks and achievements to the General Manager.</li>
<li>Ensures all safety provisions and procedures are carried out and all incidents and accidents are reported to appropriate individuals.</li>
<li>Provide direction and set production targets for Project Managers / Superintendents.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<h3>Work Experience</h3>
<ul>
<li>Minimum three years' experience related to construction and / or project management.</li>
<li>Industrial construction and / or mining experience required.</li>
<li>Experience managing with collective agreements.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Education</h3>
<ul>
<li>Post secondary education (Engineering Degree or Technical Diploma) or equivalent experience related to Project Management.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrated ability to execute complex construction projects within established timelines and on budget.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to pivot and problem solve to project needs.</li>
<li>Basic knowledge and understanding of JD Edwards.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective client relationships.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Workers Compensation Board requirements.</li>
<li>Fundamental understanding of all relevant Employment-related legislation.</li>
<li>Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.</li>
<li>Strong organizational skills, including time management, delegation & prioritization skills.</li>
<li>Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.</li>
<li>Computer skills including working knowledge of common software applications.</li>
<li>Knows and understands construction scope and objectives.</li>
<li>Experience reading drawings and / or interpreting specifications.</li>
<li>Knowledge of scheduling and planning.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to steward an effective meeting.</li>
<li>Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage several simultaneous activities, establishing priorities and delegating responsibilities as required.</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li>
<li>Recent training in First Aid, WHIMIS and CSTS.</li>
