<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p>The Asbestos Worker will perform the following duties:</p><ul><li>Remove, handle, and dispose of asbestos-containing materials in accordance with federal, provincial, and territorial regulations</li><li>Set up and dismantle containment areas, including barriers, negative air pressure systems, and decontamination facilities</li><li>Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades required at asbestos abatement sites</li><li>Operate specialized equipment such as HEPA vacuums, negative air machines, and air monitoring equipment</li><li>Prepare surfaces for asbestos abatement work by wetting materials and applying appropriate sealants</li><li>Package and label asbestos waste materials for safe transport and disposal according to regulations</li><li>Clean and decontaminate work areas, equipment, and personal protective equipment</li><li>Assist in conducting air quality testing and monitoring during and after abatement activities</li><li>Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from work sites</li><li>Maintain clean and safe work sites by following health and safety protocols and regulations</li><li>Perform general construction labour tasks as required</li><li>Complete required documentation and reports related to asbestos abatement wor</li></ul><p><strong><strong>EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS</strong></strong></p><p><strong><strong>Education:</strong></strong></p><ul><li>Completion of secondary school is usually required</li><li>May be required depending on <span >provincial/territorial</span> regulations</li></ul><p><strong><strong>Experience:</strong></strong></p><ul><li>Some experience as a general construction labourer may be required</li><li>Experience in asbestos abatement or hazardous material handling is an asset</li></ul><p><strong><strong>Certifications and Training (MANDATORY):</strong></strong></p><ul><li><strong><strong>Asbestos Worker Certification</strong></strong> - Valid certification as required by <span >provincial/territorial</span> regulations</li><li>Current WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification</li><li>Confined Space Entry training (if applicable)</li><li>Fall Protection certification</li><li>First Aid and CPR certification (asset)</li><li>Valid traffic control certificate (asset)</li></ul><p><strong><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></strong></p><ul><li>Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs regularly</li><li>Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in various weather conditions</li><li>Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators for extended periods</li><li>Good physical stamina and manual dexterity</li></ul><p><strong><strong>Other Requirements:</strong></strong></p><ul><li>Reliable and punctual</li><li>Ability to work as part of a team</li><li>Strong attention to safety protocols and regulations</li><li>Ability to follow written and verbal instructions</li></ul><p><strong><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS</strong></strong></p><ul><li>Work environment involves potential exposure to hazardous materials</li><li>Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions</li><li>May require work at heights, in confined spaces, or in demolition sites</li><li>Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times, including full-face respirators, protective suits, gloves, and boots</li><li>Work schedule may include overtime, weekends, and shift work as required</li><li>Travel to various job sites may be required</li></ul></p></p>Create Your Resume First
