Malvern Family Resource Centre (MFRC) is an essential and trusted Community Hub that connects, engages, and takes collaborative action in supporting our communities to thrive. We use our public spaces, and our deep and authentic connections, to bring people together with a focus on those that need us the most. Each year, MFRC provides impactful, holistic, and highly accessible programs and services to several thousand children, youth, families, women, newcomers, and seniors. MFRC has recently launched a new strategic plan A Place Where you Belong.

The Opportunity

MFRC’s Middle Years Department is seeking a Site Supervisor for after-school programs within the Malvern and North Scarborough area. As the Site Supervisor, you will oversee day-to-day operations of the program, providing leadership to staff and ensuring that activities meet the needs of children in grades Jk to 8. Programs include physical health and wellness activities, nutrition education, social skills development, academic support, leadership opportunities, and more. You will work closely with middle years coordinators, program facilitators, school partners, and families to ensure safe, inclusive, and high-quality programming.

Job Responsibilities:

Program Delivery:

• Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of after-school programs to ensure they align with Ministry and MFRC guidelines.

• Supervise program staff and volunteers, providing direction, support, and mentorship to ensure quality program delivery.

• Coordinate daily schedules, activities, and snack preparation.

• Model and promote a playful, safe, diverse, and inclusive environment where all participants feel welcome.

• Support staff in managing challenging behaviors and complex needs of children and youth.

• Liaise with school staff, parents, community members, and partner agencies to maintain positive relationships and smooth operations.

• Assist with program-specific special events, training, meetings community engagement, and workshops.

• Participate in program evaluations and assessments.

• Work with the Coordinator and Manager to support children, youth and families through challenges that may arise including child welfare concerns.

• Ensures an approach that displays a positive attitude, sensitivity and understanding toward people of all abilities, backgrounds and orientations.

• Other duties as assigned.

Administration:

• Ensure accurate registration, attendance tracking, and daily reporting of program statistics.

• Review and submit incident/accident reports and ensure follow-up according to MFRC policies.

• Monitor staff compliance with program expectations, safety standards, and record- keeping requirements.

• Promote programs within the school and community to maintain strong participant numbers.

• Maintain site readiness, ensuring space is safe, clean, and welcoming each day.

Necessary Skills/Qualifications and Other Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience supervising staff, volunteers, or leading teams in a children/youth setting.

• Positive role model who enjoys working with children and youth.

• Strong leadership, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.

• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.

• Ability to adapt to program needs and problem-solve in dynamic situations.

• Experience or education (or combination) in social service, education, recreation, or community development, with proven capacity to support youth around recreation, education, or nutrition.

• Knowledge and application of child and youth development principles (HIGH FIVE training required within first 3 months of employment).

• Standard First Aid & CPR (required within first 3 months).

• Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (if over 18 years of age).

• Must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle (mileage is provided).

Terms of Employment:

Contract Duration: September 2025 to June 2026 with the possibility of continuing into Summer Camp 2026 (Including opportunities to work Winter Break, March Break and PA Days).

Location: 90 Littles Rd but will be required to travel to sites.

Amount: $20.00 per hour

Hours of Work: up to 25 hours per week between the hours of 12pm- 6pm. Some evening work may be required. Must be available to work Monday and Friday.

Accountability: The position will report to the Program Coordinator, Middle Years Centre
