We deliver Advanced Life Support (ALS), Basic Life Support (BLS) and Inter Facility Transfer Services to 22 rural and 2 metro locations across Alberta.</p><p><br /></p><p>Associated Ambulance is currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Maintenance and Facilities Technician to join our organization. This vital role ensures our facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained; supporting a productive and efficient environment for staff.</p><p><br /></p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Perform hands-on maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of buildings, equipment, and grounds, ensuring all facilities remain safe and efficient.</li><li>Electrical experience or certification is considered a strong asset.</li><li>Independently troubleshoot and resolve facility issues, taking ownership of repairs whenever possible before engaging external vendors.</li><li>Identify facility deficiencies or hazards and implement corrective actions promptly.</li><li>Respond to emergent maintenance concerns in a timely and professional manner.</li><li>Maintain and repair basic building systems (e.g., lighting, minor plumbing, hardware, fixtures, etc.).</li><li>Coordinate and schedule specialized work with contractors and service providers when required, overseeing their performance to ensure quality standards are met.</li><li>Manage cleaning, security, and facility-related services with a hands-on, operational approach as needed.</li><li>Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies, and support budgeting for repairs and improvements.</li><li>Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations across all facility operations.</li><li>Act as the primary point of contact for staff and stakeholders regarding facility needs and concerns.</li><li>Implement and document preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend facility lifespan.</li><li>Keep detailed and accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and contracts.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>Logistics</p><ul><li>Monday to Friday<ul><li>Occasional emergency after hours and weekend work may be required</li></ul></li><li>Hours of work: 0800-1600<ul><li>These hours are flexible and may vary dependent on travel</li><li>This is a salaried position with possibility of overtime</li></ul></li><li>The position will entail 50-75% travel across the province</li><li>A fleet vehicle will be provided for work travel purposes</li><li>Must have availability for overnight travel, sometimes for multiple days at a time per month<br /></li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>Previous experience in facility management, building maintenance, or a related field.</li><li>Strong organizational and time management skills.</li><li>Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) is an asset.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.</li><li>Familiarity with health and safety regulations.</li><li>Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance management software.</li><li>Valid drivers license and clean abstract.</li></ul><p>Why Join Associated Ambulance?</p><ul><li>Be part of a respected organization serving communities across Alberta.</li><li>Take ownership of facility operations and make a meaningful impact.</li><li>Work in a supportive team environment with opportunities for professional growth.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Additional Perks</p><ul><li>Comprehensive Health & Dental benefit package.</li><li>Generous taxable spending account.</li><li>Paid Sick/Personal days.</li><li>Employer-matched RRSP-DPSP retirement savings program.</li></ul><p><br><br></p><p>Application Deadline</p><p>Applications must be received byJanuary 16, 2025.
