IT Network Specialist Help Desk

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Network Specialist Help Desk to join our team. This individual will be responsible for providing comprehensive support for our network infrastructure, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking and IT support, with expertise in diagnosing and resolving network-related problems, managing network configurations, and providing exceptional customer service.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide first and second-line support for network-related issues, responding to service requests via phone, email, or ticketing system.

• Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity, performance, and hardware issues within the organization’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

• Perform network diagnostics, monitor network performance, and implement solutions to optimize network efficiency and security.

• Assist with network installations, upgrades, and configuration changes, ensuring adherence to best practices and security standards.

• Maintain accurate records of all technical issues, resolutions, and system configurations.

• Work closely with the IT team to implement and maintain network solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

• Provide user training and support to staff on network-related tools and systems.

• Document and update network-related processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

• Monitor and respond to network alarms, alerts, and notifications to prevent system downtime.

• Assist with disaster recovery procedures and network security assessments as needed.

• Respond to client inquiries via email, through online chats, over the phone, or in person.

• Provide technical support to users by identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with client system hardware and software.

• Assist our customers in resolving questions and problems concerning computer systems, hardware, networking, and software

• Work with customers remotely and in person, guiding them through systems configuration and troubleshooting, while aiming to resolve issues with efficiency

• Coordinate with cabling/security companies for scheduling and installation of structured cabling, IDF, switches, security cameras, and related hardware.

• Work closely with Cybersecurity team to maintain and rollout tools.

• Provide answers to clients by identifying problems, researching answers, and guiding clients through corrective steps.

Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, etc.).

• Hands-on experience with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.) and network monitoring tools.

• Experience with network security concepts and practices, including firewalls, VPNs, and encryption.

• Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and networked applications.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

• Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or similar are highly preferred.

• Experience with help desk ticketing systems and remote support tools is a plus.

• Experience with cloud-based network solutions and services (AWS, Azure, etc.).

• Knowledge of VoIP systems and support.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 user/group/email/license administration

• Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
