The Senior Systems and Network Administrator Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the IT infrastructure, ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of the organization’s systems and networks. This role includes both hands-on technical responsibilities and supervisory duties for a team of system and network administrators.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex IT environments and a proven track record of leading teams to deliver consistent, high-quality service.

This is not a remote or hybrid role. This individual will be based in our Scottsdale, AZ office.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Duties:

  1. Manage and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, network devices, cloud platforms, and security systems.
  2. Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network services (LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, wireless).
  3. Ensure system security, backups, disaster recovery plans, and regular maintenance.
  4. Implement upgrades, patches, and configurations to optimize performance and security.
  5. Monitor system and network performance, identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact users.
  6. Maintain accurate documentation of systems, processes, and network topology.

Supervisory Duties:

  1. Lead and manage a team of systems and network administrators, including task delegation, performance evaluations, and mentorship.
  2. Develop and manage work schedules, ensuring coverage for critical infrastructure and support.
  3. Coordinate team training to ensure knowledge of current technologies and best practices.
  4. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement and professional growth.
  5. Act as a point of escalation for complex technical issues.
  6. Collaborate with other departments to align IT initiatives with organizational goals.

Other Duties as Required:

  1. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to assisting with special projects, cross-functional support, and other tasks that contribute to the team’s success and overall organizational goals.

Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience:

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  2. Experience: 5+ years in systems and network administration, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  3. In-depth knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux), network protocols, firewalls, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  4. Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure) and hybrid environments.
  5. Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices, including risk mitigation and compliance standards.
  6. Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell) and monitoring solutions (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds).
  7. Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
