About the Position

The IT Project Analyst will support IT Project Managers with overseeing and coordinating projects, contributing to project planning, preparing, and maintaining documentation, preparing resource utilization reports, monitoring and reporting on project performance indicators, and facilitating project status meetings.  This job is the first level in the job family. The job will administer the portfolio management tool and report on budget performance from the tool. The IT Project Analyst will be a backup for the IT Coordinator. 

 

Functions

  • Typically responsible for 1 to 2 projects.
  • Projects size is roughly around 150 hours and the cost is around $20,000 to $30,000.
  • Project complexity: customer-facing and projects that involve other business units.
  • Produces project templates and reporting that is consistent across projects.
  • Ensures projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
  • Works with IT Project Managers and people managers to ensure consistent reporting on resource utilization.
  • Collaborates closely with IT Project Managers as process owners to improve project processes and templates.
  • Administers users and projects in the portfolio management tool.
  • Assists IT Project Manager and IT Product Manager with creation, maintenance, and retention of Statements of Work (SOW) and Change Requests (CR).
  • Conducts project audits for compliance to standard project plans and processes.
  • Monitors project processes to make sure they are consistently followed from project creation to project closure.
  • Provides reporting and analysis from the portfolio management tool.
  • Trains IT employees on the portfolio management tool.
  • Provides level 1 and 2 support for the portfolio management tool through existing helpdesk tools.
  • Creates, manages, and distributes project status reports.
  • Reviews and reports on project budgets and billing.
  • Facilitates the bi-weekly project status meetings with IT leadership team.
  • Reviews the accuracy of monthly project billing with the IT Coordinator.
  • Administers project billing and invoicing consistently in the portfolio management tool.
  • Records expense entries according to standard processes.

 

Qualifications

·         A Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent from a four-year college and/or three years related experience and/or training.

·         Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

·         MS Office skills to include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

·         A high level of understanding of IT project processes.

Travel Requirements

  • This position is expected to travel approximately 5% or less.
