Description
The Director, IT Procurement will be responsible for developing the strategy and managing all the IT sector’s procurement activities, ensuring the promotion and application of frameworks, and providing leadership for the procurement process and the management of major supplier agreements with stakeholders. Their main objectives will be to maximize gains, efficiently manage risk and meet the expectations of the IT sector.
Steers the strategy of the sectors for which they are responsible and develops strategies for portfolio consolidation and optimization in order to maximize value for iA and partners
Reconciles priorities and manages their team’s resource capacity in collaboration with stakeholders in order to meet expectations and objectives
Provides leadership to partners, ensuring that the Directive is understood and applied, and that suppliers are adequately managed, especially for major agreements
Offers support tailored to the needs and expectations of each sector
Manages issues, disputes and negotiations with suppliers
Establishes good relationships with process stakeholders and partners, and stays up to date in order to maintain their knowledge of the sectors for which they are responsible (challenges, issues, priorities)
Maintains an overview of current and upcoming projects and their problems, and, when required, escalates them at the right moment and to the correct level * Participates in certain suppliers’ strategic governance committees and supports the management of major sector agreements
Collaborates with colleagues to manage inter-team capacities, information exchange and best practice sharing
Identifies improvement and optimization needs in order to fuel the evolution of procurement and supplier management practices
Mobilizes their team and develops their resources’ skills according to industry best practices
Desired profile:
10 years of procurement experience in the Information Technology sector
Bachelor’s degree in administration or a related field
Solid contract negotiation experience
Concrete experience in:
Drafting contractual service levels
Resolving complex problems
Producing results and achieving objectives
Management and personnel development
Recognized results- and client-oriented leadership
Excellent planning, organization and execution skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to influence and network effectively with stakeholders
Proven leadership and governance skills in a context of large-scale transformation
Strategic presence and ease in interacting with senior internal and distributor executives
Experience and knowledge of the financial, banking and insurance sectors (a significant asset)
Excellent command of French and English, both oral and written, due to frequent interactions with French and English speaking clients and internal partners across Canada
